OYO-2023: Former Oyo Council Chairmen Reunite, Agree On Folarin’s Mandate Ahead of the 2023 election, 40 former council  in Oyo State met today in Ibadan, the state capital. Apart from reconciliation and working for the All Progressives Congress, APC, the ex-council bosses promised to work to ensure the emergence of Teslim Folarin as the next governor of Oyo State. Prominent among the ex-LG bosses who attended the meeting which took place at their office in Iyaganku area of Ibadan were Kunle Oladeji, Gbade Lana, Olumide Alli, Bisi Oladeji, Lanre Olaosegba, Akinpade Ayobami, Egunjobi Samuel, Raji Adeleke, Yomi Adefusi and others. On Alleged Misconduct, Olaniyan Drags Oyo Assembly To Court Oyo State Deputy Governor, Rauf Olaniyan, has dragged the state House of Assembly to court over the impeachment move against him by the lawmakers. The deputy governor was represented in court by his counsel, Chief Afolabi Fashanu, (SAN) in the case which came up before Justice Ladiran Akintola at Oyo State High Court, Ring Road, Ibadan on Tuesday. The judge ordered that the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, and the Clerk of the House be put on notice before he adjourned the matter till Wednesday ( today). The lawmakers had, two weeks ago, initiated impeachment move against Olaniyan. The House, in a letter read by the Clerk, accused the deputy governor of financial recklessness, gross misconduct and insubordination among other allegations, shortly after his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.
