Oyo 2023: Murphy, Akintola React To Aderibigbe's Impending Defection to APC Former Chief Whip of Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adigun Hammed popularly known as Murphy and the federal lawmaker representing Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Olu Akintola have described Senator Teslim Folarin's move to woo Asiwaju Yemi Aderibigbe into the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a welcome development. The APC chieftains in a brief chat with journalists on Tuesday night disclaimed a news report that their followers are kicking against impending defection of the former special adviser to governor Seyi Makinde on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters to the progressive family. According to INSTANTnews, loyalists of Hon. Akintola and Hon Murphy said Aderibigbe is not welcomed to the party, saying that the party structure in Akinyele would not be surrendered to him. NFF Appoints New Super Eagles Head Coach The Nigeria Football Federation has endorsed a proposal by its Technical and Development sub-committee for the appointment of Portuguese manager Jose Peseiro as the new head coach of the Super Eagles. His appointment follows the sacking of Gernot Rohr earlier this month. The executive committee of the NFF has, however, resolved that the interim head coach  Augustine Eguavoen will be in charge of the three-time African champions for the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon while coach Peseiro will serve as an observer. The NFF says the tournament will be a good avenue for Peseiro to launch a working relationship with Eguavoen, who will revert to his role as technical director of the NFF after the AFCON. The 61-year-old was in charge of the Venezuela national team until August and has also coached Sporting Lisbon, FC Porto, and Al Ahly of Egypt. Folarin Woos Former Makinde’s Aid, Yemi Aderibigbe Into APC In his efforts to strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State ahead of the 2023 general elections, Senator Teslim Folarin on Monday met with Asiwaju Yemi Aderibigbe. Recently, the former executive chairman of Akinyele local government area of Oyo State resigned from Governor Seyi Makinde's government as Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters. Hon. Aderibigbe who is Asiwaju of Ijaiye also served as Special Adviser on Transports to late former governor Abiola Ajimobi. FG Plans Another Fresh Borrowing, Public Debt To Hit N50 Trillion By 2023 The Federal Government has hoped to push its public debt stock to N50.22tn by 2023, with domestic debt at N28.75tn and external debt at N21.47tn. This is according to the projections in the National Development Plan 2021-2025.The Debt Management Office had disclosed that Nigeria’s public debt was N38tn as of the end of the third quarter of 2021, with the total debt stock rising by N2.540tn in three months from July to September 2021. This shows that the regime of the President, Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), plans to accumulate about N12tn debt in two years from 2021 to 2023.
