SEA Popular Nollywood Actor Is Dead The Yoruba movie industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of veteran  Nollywood actor , Musiliu Ajikanle. INSTANTnews  learnt that the thespian, who was the producer of the popular movie ‘Mufiu Olosha Oko’ reportedly passed away, after struggling with a stroke for seven years. Nigerian filmmaker and actor Saliu Gbolagade, announced the demise of Ajikanle in a post via his Instagram page on Monday, July 31. While expressing grief over the demise, Gbolagade said, Ajikanle’s footsteps  will never be forgotten. He wrote,  “Ina Lilah Waina Allah Rajiun God gave each of us the gift of life, and God gifted us with eternal life. Education:   About 156,979 Pupils Sit for 2023 Placement/Screening Examination into JSS1 The Oyo State Government, on Monday, commenced the 2023 screening/placement exercise statewide for primary six pupils transiting into public Junior Secondary School one. A statement by the Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, revealed that close to One Hundred Fifty-Six Thousand, Nine Hundred and Seventy-Nine (156,979) pupils across Five Hundred and Three (503) Centers participated in the exercise. The statement said by the Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Salihu Abdul Waheed, alongside a team from the Ministry monitored the exercise in some centers within the Ibadan metropolis. The commissioner who applauded the hitch free exercise, noted that the centers visited were peaceful and devoid of malpractices. Oyo Govt Calls Labour To Dialogue …. We Only Owe 3 Monthly Salary Deductions – Oyo Govt Says The Oyo State Government has rallied the Nigeria Labour Congress to discuss the issue of salary deductions exhaustively, before embarking on any form of protest. In a statement issued by the Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the Oyo State Government said only three months and not six months are owed workers. The statement added that every State in the federation owes workers salary deductions and the three months owed by Oyo State is the least. According to the Commissioner, the NLC had shown over the years that they are in support of the present administration because of good governance, but asked them to reflect on the disposition of government to workers’ welfare.
