Senator Akintunde's  South Korea Visit: A Step Towards Enhanced Parliamentary And Economic Cooperation By || Paul Okechwuku Senator Yunus Akintunde the Distinguished representing Oyo Central Senatorial District recently concluded a working visit to South Korea. The trip was facilitated by the Korea Foundation, a public diplomacy organization affiliated with South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and which is committed to promoting better understanding of  Korea and strengthening friendship in the international community.  The trip was tagged “Korea Foundation Invitation Program for Distinguished Guests in Parliament” and the various programs during the trip took place between 20th and 26th of April 2025. The lawmaker representing Kogi Central in the senate, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has issued a controversial apology letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio. It can be recalled that the senator was suspended for six months after she was accused of refusing to adhere to the chamber’s sitting arrangement during a plenary session on February 20. However, the Senate leadership had said that an apology from Mrs Akpoti-Uduaghan might pave the way for her early reinstatement. There has been growing tension between Akpoti-Uduaghan and Akpabio for months. The senator had previously accused the Senate President of sexual harassment and alleged that he was using his position to victimise and intimidate her following her refusal to comply with his advances.
