JUST-IN: FG Declares September 16 As Public Holiday The federal government has declared Monday, September 16 as a public holiday to mark the celebration of the Eid-ul-Mawlid, the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). The minister of interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the federal government on Friday, September 13. He congratulated the Muslim Ummah both at home and in the Diaspora for the celebration. Tunji-Ojo in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Magdalene Ajani, urged the Muslim Ummah and, by extension, Nigerians, to imbibe the spirit of patience, sacrifice, and resilience. While congratulating the Muslim Ummah on the occasion, the minister implored them to use the opportunity of the period to pray for enduring peace and a more prosperous nation. Folarin, Akintunde, Buhari, Alli, Others Moved To Tears As Late Oyo APC Chairman, Omodewu Was Buried In an emotion laden service held at First Baptist Church Otu, Otu Itesiwaju Local Government in Oyo State, Hon Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu has been finally buried . Leading the pack of dignitaries at the event were Senator Teslim Folarin, Dr Yunus Akintunde, Dr Abdufatah Buhari, High Chief Sarafadeen Alli, all three serving Senators representing Oyo State at the Senate in the National Assembly. The service of song and night of tributes had earlier held on Thursday after the body was recieved on arrival from United States where the deceased had died on August 18th 2024. Senator Yunus Akintunde was also at Murtala Mohammed International Airport Ikeja with Senator Teslim Folarin, Senator Abdufatah Buhari, Eng.
