In a significant boost to education and a direct intervention to ease the financial burden on parents, the Oyo State House of Assembly hopeful for Ona-Ara Local Government, Honourable Sunday Adebisi Olaoluwa, has successfully sponsored the NECO (National Examination Council) Senior School Certificate Examination forms for numerous indigent students in his constituency.

The beneficiaries have commenced their examinations alongside their peers, a development that has generated widespread commendation across the local government.

According to a statement released today by the Olaoluwa media unit, this initiative is a crucial step towards ensuring that no deserving student is denied the opportunity to sit for a major qualifying examination due to financial constraints. The high cost of examination fees often forces brilliant students from low-income families to drop out, a trend Honourable Olaoluwa is committed to reversing.
"Education is the bedrock of development, and it must never be a privilege; it should be a fundamental right," Honourable Olaoluwa stated. "The financial burden on parents is immense, and as their intending representative, it is our duty to step in. My joy is seeing these young men and women sit confidently in the examination hall, armed with the opportunity to shape their future."
The initiative’s impact is extensive, with beneficiaries selected from all eleven (11) wards that make up the Ona-Ara Local Government area, ensuring equitable distribution and broad community coverage.
In a forward-looking commitment, Honourable Olaoluwa has not only provided the NECO forms but has also unveiled a further incentive for academic excellence. He assured the students that outstanding performance in the ongoing NECO examination will be met with additional support.

"This is not the end of the journey; it is just the beginning," he added. "I want to encourage our students to study hard. Any beneficiary who achieves an outstanding result will be automatically sponsored with a free JAMB form and enrolled into a free, intensive tutorial program to prepare them for university entry. We are investing in their future from secondary school right up to tertiary admission."

The Ona-Ara community and parents have expressed profound gratitude for the timely intervention, noting that the gesture will alleviate considerable stress during the current economic climate and empower the next generation of leaders.
