Accord House of Reps Aspirant, Olaniyi Simeon Akinloye, Condemns Tragic Killing in Irewole, Calls for Immediate Justice
The Accord aspirant for the Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency, Honourable Olaniyi Simeon Akinloye, has vehemently condemned the brutal killing of a devoted party member in Irewole Local Government.
In a statement released by his media office to the newsmen this afternoon, the Gbongan-born politician expressed deep grief and indignation, describing the incident as a barbaric and unlawful act that has no place in a civilized society.
Hon. Akinloye extended his deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased, Kolade Eluyera, as well as the entire Accord political family in Osun State.
"On behalf of my family and the Akinloye Political dynasty, i extend my heartfelt condolences to the family of Kolade Eluyera. We pray for the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss. This is not just a loss for his family, but for our entire community," Akinloye expressed.
Disturbed by the rising tide of violence, Hon. Akinloye called upon the Inspector General of Police and the Commissioner of Police in Osun State to treat this killing as a direct threat to the fundamental rights and freedom of movement of all citizens.
He urged all security agencies within the constituency and the state to launch a comprehensive and transparent investigation to ensure the perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice.
Furthermore, Hon. Akinloye decried the unchecked destruction of Accord campaign billboards across the state by opposition elements. He issued a stern warning to political rivals, urging them to conduct their campaigns within the ambit of the law.
"Politics should be a contest of ideas, not a theatre of violence. I call on all opposition parties to call their supporters to refrain from unlawful actions that endanger the lives of citizens. We must prioritize the peace and stability of our state above any political ambition," Akinloye added.
Akinloye insists that drastic security measures must be implemented to prevent further bloodshed as the election cycle progresses.
