"Protesters Are Politically Sponsored, Not Our Constituents", Ona-Ara Youth Group Decries Protest Against Fadeyi’s Candidacy
The Ona-Ara Youth Advocates (OYA), a prominent socio-cultural organization dedicated to the development and progress of the Ona-Ara Local Government, has officially denounced the recent protests staged against the third-term bid of Honourable Mohammed Abiodun Fadeyi, OYHA deputy speaker.
In a statement jointly signed today by the group’s Chairman,Elder Oladokun Johnson, and the Secretary, Comr. Isafiade Kazeem of the organization described the demonstrations as a calculated attempt by ambitious politicians to incite crisis and destabilize the peace within the constituency.
The group maintained that the protesters do not represent the genuine interests or voices of the Ona-Ara constituents. Instead, OYA categorized the movement as a politically sponsored distraction orchestrated by individuals whose personal ambitions outweigh their commitment to the community’s welfare.
"We are not politicians, but when it comes to the development of our local government, we will not fold our arms. The recent protests are clearly the handiwork of those desperate for power. Hon. Fadeyi is a silent achiever who has contributed significantly to the growth of our villages and communities." The group explained.
Honourable Fadeyi, who recently resigned his membership from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is seeking a third term in the Oyo State House of Assembly. OYA highlighted his track record as the primary reason for their support, citing his exceptional representation, constituency outreach and sustainable Development. The Ona-Ara Youth Advocates cautioned desperate political actors to desist from organizing rallies or meetings intended to trigger unrest. The group emphasized that any attempt to drag the local government backward or disrupt the ongoing developmental strides under Hon. Fadeyi’s leadership will be met with firm resistance from the youth.
"We warn those trying to undermine the progress of Ona-Ara to stop immediately. We will not allow the peace of our local government to be sacrificed on the altar of desperate politics," the group concluded.
