 Folarin Visited 5-Day ICT Skills Acquisition Trainees Centre As Some Ona-Ara APC Leader’s Absence Baffles Party Members

Few days after the Oyo Central Senator, Senator Folarin flagged off a training for 500 youths in Oyo Central Constituency on ICT skill acquisition on products and wares marketing for cooperators. The training, which commenced on Monday 20th September 2021 and end today 24th September 2021 has participants drawn from the 11 Local Government Areas of Oyo Central. The beneficiaries were expected to receive #40,000 each to start a small scale business which will enable them to be more useful to themselves, families and the society at large.

When speaking at the event during a visitation to Ona-Ara centre of the training today, Sen. Folarin encouraged the participants to make use of what they have learnt to promotes themselves which will make them add more values to the society.

He emphasised that,the training is to make the Oyo central constituents proactive in their businesses and improve their profits making rate.

Senator Folarin stressed furthered that ICT is a strategic to all sectors of the economy in terms of productivity and efficiency, charged youths to use ICT to promote and expand their legitimate businesses.

In the meantime, some APC leaders who are expected to welcome the third-term Senator were discovered absented at the event.

According to our reporter, the likes of former Caretaker Chairmen in the local gov., Hon. Sina Adeagbo and Hon. Biliaminu Ogundele were not sighted at the event. Hon. Kunle Jenrade, Organising Sec of the party in the local gov.(Com- Adeagbo Saheed), Elder Bankole, among others were also discovered absented at the closing ceremony of the 5-days seminar.

Though our correspondent find out that Alh. Repete, Chairman of the party (Elder Taiwo), Youth leader, Alh. Yinka Folarin, Bar. Lowo Obisesan among others and other party faithfuls in Ona-Ara graced the occasion with Senator Folarin.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr Adebayo spoke with our reporter. He explained that, the training has exposed him to more skills in businesses and how to improving in profits making.

Another participant explained that the training has enlightened her to some capacity building especially on information and communication technology.

After the training, all the participants were awarded with certificate of participation by the Federal College of Cooperative.

The 5-day ICT Skill Acquisition was taking place simultaneously at 4 different centres in Oyo Central Senatorial District vis-a-vis Jesus The Rock Hall Jegede- Ona-Ara LGA; ENIF Event Centre and Hotel, Akobo Ibadan – Lagelu LGA; Resort Center Igbo Ile – Surulere LGA; and Opete Community Hall, Otamokun – Surulere LGA.
