Oyo Progressive members storm Awolowo stadium to elect new executives 

Thousands of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State are currently at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Oke-Ado Ibadan to elect their new state executive members.

Our correspondent however observed that thousands of the party members, from all the five geopolitical zones, Ibadan, Oyo, Ogbomoso, Oke Ogun, and Ibarapa, have arrived at the venue.

Some of the aspirants for the state executive members have also arrived at the venue.

Others are leaders of the party from all the five geopolitical zones.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Barrister Mutiu Agboke who addressed journalists noted that Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), maintained that INEC’s role is to monitor the election.

INEC according to him is to monitor the election and not to conduct the election.

“INEC is here today. We are to monitor and not to conduct the election,” he said.

Our correspondent reports that security agents are at the venue to maintain law and order.
