Opinion: HON. AKIN ALABI/AKINJIDE KAZEEM: THE STORY OF RABBIT AND RAT

Opinion: HON. AKIN ALABI/AKINJIDE KAZEEM: THE STORY OF RABBIT AND RAT

By| Dahood k. Mandela

Placing Hon. Akin Alabi side by side with one unknown Kazeem Akinjide seems insulting, demeaning and maligning to the sophisticated people of Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency. Let's put it straight even when the mass of minions or plebeian or artisans on the streets are easily deceived by the sycophants around him(Akinjide Kazeem) who are desperate to bless their pockets, I challenge the well-lettered or well-versed stocks around to dig out his antecedents.

Of course it is good to be critical. It is no longer the Medieval era. It is a time when inquisitiveness makes the foundation of learning. Yes. It is about time the middle-class at least needed to shoulder the responsibility of salvaging the entire people. Take your time and ask, 'Who was Akin Alabi in 10-year back?' Who made people submitted their mandate with all love? What made these set of people who call him names sold him to the entire people? Please ask what made them change their track of melodic songs in his praise? What made them turned against Akin Alabi suddenly? These are the questions begging for answers.

I know and I'm cocksure they know the people on the streets care less of all these because they have their key since they know poverty is bane of criminality and wrong decisions. They go to their homes and serve their table with crumbs to draw their attentions.

Without mincing words, Hon. Akin Alabi was born here in Ibadan and attended the Polytechnic Ibadan before he furthered his educational pursuit overseas. It is a fact without deodorant that Akin struggled in the ancient metropolitan city of hospitality, Ibadan like every other boy at the early stage of life before the table turned and fortune smiled on him. The implication of all these references is that Hon. Akin Alabi is a holistic Ibadan boy who understands our hues and cries in totality.

However to avoid artistic fiction, folktales or mere hagiography that could make a story that will touch the hearts with its tragic boredomness let us ask the same questions from the emergent disciples, sycophants and fanatical associates of Akinjide Kazeem.

Wait! Ask in sequence to avoid mix up or confusion. And for clarification tell them you mean the candidate of Accord Party for Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency. Ask them for his place of birth. Ask for the details of his education. Ask for his antecedence at work. I meant where he claims he retired from at tender age. What culminated into his compulsory retirement? Ask for why he became a philanthropist overnight. I'm cocksure his responses will stop you from comparing him with distinguished Hon. Akin Alabi.
By parody I would be right to call one Akin, the day and the other, the night. I will dot my lines here but I promise their rejoinder or reactions would force me back to the page of argument. Tell them to campaign with issue-based arguments. Tell the 'world' the better Akin and why your choice is better after these mental exercises.
