Lionel Messi has been announced as the winner of the 2023 Ballon d’Or award.

The award ceremony is organized to award the best footballer from the 2022/23 season with football’s most prestigious prize.

Messi, now with 8 triumphs to his name is the most decorated winner of all time but faced stiff competition from Manchester City’s Erling Haaland who had a record-breaking season of his own and PSG’s Kylian Mbappe after he won Ligue 1 and played a huge part in taking France to the World Cup final.
