A political group from Ede town, Ghaff Unity, made up of kinsmen of Governor Ademola Adeleke, has thrown its weight behind All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Bola Oyebamiji, for the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

The group’s leader, Ajani Ayodeji, revealed that they hail from Ede North Local Government Area, the same hometown as Governor Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but believe Oyebamiji has the vision and competence needed to steer the state toward progress.
“As the Osun State governorship election draws near, we believe it is time to demand impactful and purposeful leadership,” Ayodeji said in a statement. “Our state has taken the back seat, and the last two and a half years have been marked by poor management of Osun’s human, financial, and mineral resources. We are confident in Oyebamiji’s capacity to lead and reposition Osun for sustainable growth.”

“Osun, a fortress for the progressives until recently, deserves to be reconnected to the national power bloc to key into the developmental agenda of the federal government and ensure strategic alignment for growth and economic stability.

The group added that Oyebamiji’s leadership will bring about a new era of growth, economic prosperity, and communal peace, stressing that “We are sure that his candidacy will foster unity within our party and guarantee electoral victory in the 2026 governorship elections.

“We urge our leaders, Chief Bisi Akande, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, and every stakeholder who desires to see the prosperity of Osun and thirsts for her greatness to support Oyebamiji.”
