Fire Destroys Clients Mazda Bus At Mechanic workshop In Ibadan

An early morning fire has destroyed a Mazda bus in a mechanic workshop in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
According to a report from our correspondent, the incident occurred, on Monday, at a workshop located in the front of Alarere Central Mosque, Sawmill Area, Ibadan. The fire affected the Mazda bus with registration number KWL 943 ZA, Abuja, while other properties in workshop were spared by the inferno.
Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande decried the incident in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Monday, saying the agency received a distress call in the early hours of Monday.
“The fire incident was received through telephone call by agency’s control room center at exactly 08:27hrs on Monday 9th June, 2025.
“Immediately the address was taken, a crew of firemen led by ACFS Adesina Olusoji swiftly deployed to the scene of the incident. On arrival at the scene, it was a MAZDA bus registration No. KWL 943 ZA (Abuja) engulfed by fire.
“We quickly swung into action and restricted the fire from spreading to the other vehicles stationed at the workshop. The fire was extinguished and necessary advice was given to the owner of the workshop to avert future occurrence.
“The fire affected only one bus out of forty-eight (48) buses stationed at the workshop. The fire service was able to save properties worth millions of naira”.
