Oyo: Akin Alabi Empowers Youth With 3-Day Free Mobile Video Editing Workshop

Member representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Works, Hon Akin Alabi, has once again demonstrated his commitment to youth empowerment by hosting a three-day free mobile video editing workshop for young people in his constituency.

The training, which commenced on Thursday, September 10, 2025, and concluded on Saturday, September 12, 2025, brought together different expert instructors who tutored participants on modern video editing techniques using mobile devices. The program was designed to equip youths with practical digital skills that can be applied in content creation, entrepreneurship, and career development.
On the final day, Hon. Akin Alabi personally engaged the participants in an interactive session on digital marketing and strategic online promotion, highlighting how creative skills can be monetized in today’s fast-evolving digital economy. His direct involvement gave the youths not only technical knowledge but also insight into building sustainable digital careers.

“My vision is to see young people in Egbeda and Ona Ara equipped with skills that make them globally competitive,” Hon. Akin Alabi said. “This training is not just about editing videos, it is about opening doors to creativity, entrepreneurship, and opportunities in the digital economy. I believe when our youths are empowered, our communities and indeed our nation become stronger.”

During the 3-day exercise which ordinarily would cost hundreds of thousands per student, free lunch was served, and a take-away cash of 50,000 was given to each participant to help them put their new skills into practice, ensuring they can immediately begin creating, promoting, and monetizing digital content.
