As Nigeria marks her 65th Independence Anniversary, the Distinguished Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Dr. Yunus Akintunde, has congratulated Nigerians while expressing optimism for a more prosperous and promising future.

In a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Kunle Olatunji, Senator Akintunde commended the resilience, courage, and steadfastness of Nigerians in the face of challenges, assuring that the sacrifices of today will yield greater dividends for the nation in the years ahead.

"While I congratulate the leadership of our nation at all levels, especially Mr. President, as well as all Nigerians on this momentous 65th Independence Anniversary, it is also a time for sober reflection on our national journey so far," he said.

He further emphasized that the government’s ongoing reforms, though tough, are laying the foundation for sustainable growth and national development.

"We have made many sacrifices as a people, and though the reforms are painful, they are already showing signs of future prosperity for our nation." He said.

"At the National Assembly, we will continue to strengthen our democracy, support impactful policies, and work with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in the collective interest of our dear nation."

He concluded with prayers for Nigeria’s continued progress and unity.

"I join millions of our compatriots in celebrating this unique occasion, and I pray that Almighty God continues to bless our nation abundantly." He concluded.
