"We were completely devastated by the inferno. Many of us lost our entire life savings and unique medicinal stocks. This support from Senator Alli, the APC Women Leader, and Mr. Adekanmbi is an answered prayer," one of the market leaders stated.

The funds are expected to be disbursed transparently to the affected traders to help them clear the debris, restock their goods, and reconstruct their damaged stalls. While appreciating the timely financial succour, community stakeholders have also called on the state government and market authorities to implement stricter fire safety measures. Due to the highly flammable nature of some dried herbs and traditional roots, experts emphasize the need for accessible fire-fighting equipment and regular safety sensitizations within traditional markets to prevent future occurrences.
