Olatunji, ADP Oyo Rejoice Over Release of Oriire Kidnapped Teachers and Pupils, Caution Against Politicising Insecurity
The Governorship Candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Oyo State, Kunle Olatunji (KTJ), alongside the State Executive Committee of the party, has expressed profound joy over the safe release of the abducted teachers and pupils from Yawota and Ahoro-Esiele communities in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
There was widespread jubilation across the ADP family as the governorship candidate, the State Chairman of the party, Apostle Dare Ojo, and members of the State Executive, including Hon. Ademola Ogundeji, Alagba Bepo Adebowale, Jackson Aladje, Hon. Sayo Akinwale, Hon. Sodiq "Elege" and the party's House of Assembly candidates for Egbeda and Ona-Ara Constituencies, among other party faithful across the state, offered heartfelt gratitude to God for the safe release of the victims.
The party also commended the gallantry, professionalism and coordinated efforts of the security agencies whose dedication made the successful rescue possible.
While expressing his delight over the development, Olatunji cautioned political leaders against making insensitive statements capable of politicising the nation's security challenges.
"Leadership is a serious responsibility. At every level, leaders must demonstrate sincerity of purpose, commitment and genuine empathy for the people they serve."
"Listening to comments from some notable leaders who have chosen to politicise the deeply troubling incidents of insecurity across the country reflects the highest level of insensitivity and irresponsibility. Such utterances are unbecoming of those entrusted with leadership."
"Rather than trading blame or exploiting insecurity for political advantage, leaders must embrace collaboration, synergy and collective responsibility in confronting this national challenge. The safety and well-being of Nigerians should always take precedence over partisan interests." He expressed.
Similarly, the State Chairman of the Action Democratic Party, Apostle Dare Ojo, applauded the courage and professionalism of the combined security agencies involved in the rescue operation.
He further urged the Federal and Oyo State Governments to immediately provide comprehensive medical care, psychological support, rehabilitation and reintegration programmes for the released teachers and pupils to aid their recovery from the traumatic experience.
Ojo also stressed that justice must be served by ensuring that all arrested suspects are diligently prosecuted while security agencies intensify efforts to apprehend those still at large, as part of broader measures to deter future acts of kidnapping and criminality.
