Task Media Team Rejects  Brutality Allegation, Says Task Intervened To Restored Peace

The Media Team of Rt. Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe (TASK) has rejected allegations of brutality made by Mr. Sodiq Oluwafemi, the Assistant Ward 2 Chairman of the APC in Oluyole Local Government, describing the claim as misleading and unfortunate.

The team said the incident occurred during an engagement aimed at strengthening party unity and accommodating members seeking to return to the APC, stressing that Rt. Hon. Akande-Sadipe arrived at the venue late but immediately intervened to calm the situation and encourage reconciliation.
According to the Media Team, an eyewitness who was present at the meeting gave a different account of the incident. The witness said the disagreement became tense when Oluwafemi was involved in a dispute over the microphone with the APC Local Government Chairman, Prince Dotun, after which those present intervened to prevent the situation from escalating.

The Media Team said the eyewitness account does not support the allegation that Oluwafemi was subjected to an organised assault by people acting on behalf of TASK.

It also rejected any attempt to portray Prince Dotun as the mastermind of the crisis, noting that the available account indicates that efforts were made at the venue to restore order rather than orchestrate violence.

“Rt. Hon. Akande-Sadipe arrived late, but her intervention was directed towards calming the situation and reconciling the parties. She did not go there to escalate the disagreement,” the statement said.

The Media Team urged all parties to exercise restraint, stressing that the incident should not be allowed to undermine the ongoing reconciliation efforts within the APC in Oluyole.

“Oluyole APC needs healing, not hostility; reconciliation, not recrimination; and unity, not division,” the team said.
It reaffirmed TASK’s commitment to reconciliation and an inclusive APC, while urging party members with genuine grievances to use the appropriate party structures rather than resorting to public accusations.
