World Teachers’ Day: Ona-Ara APC Candidate, Engr. Funmi Obisesan, Salutes Teachers, Pledges Legislative Support for Educational Advancement



As the global community marks world teachers' day today, Engr. Funmi Obisesan, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ona-Ara State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, has extended a warm message of felicitation to teachers in Ona-Ara Local Government and across Nigeria.

In a statement released this morning to the press, Engr. Obisesan described teachers as the bedrock of societal development and the unsung architects of our collective future. She acknowledged the pivotal role educators play in molding character, imparting knowledge, and driving innovation, despite the numerous challenges they face in the line of duty.

"Today is not just a day of celebration. It is a day of profound reflection and appreciation for the invaluable contributions of our teachers. In Ona-Ara, our teachers are the silent heroes who work tirelessly, often with limited resources, to ensure our children are equipped with the intellectual and moral fortitude needed to navigate a complex world. Their dedication is the engine that powers our local communities forward." Obisesan expressed. 

The APC assembly candidate, known for her passion for community development and human capital investment, used the occasion to reiterate her commitment to the educational sector. She emphasized that if elected, her legislative agenda would prioritize policies that directly address the welfare and professional development of teachers in Ona-Ara.

"The welfare of our teachers must be a primary concern, not just an afterthought. As your representative, i will champion legislative frameworks that ensure prompt and full payment of salaries, improved working environments, and continuous training opportunities. We must restore the dignity of the teaching profession and ensure our teachers are well motivated to continue their noble work." She assured.

Engr. Obisesan also called on other stakeholders, including parents, community leaders, and government at all levels, to collaborate in creating an enabling environment for effective teaching and learning. "Education is a collective responsibility. We must all play our part in supporting our teachers and investing in the future of our children. My office, by God's grace and the mandate of the people, will be a reliable partner in this endeavour." Obisesan assured.
